The Petite is proportioned the other way about. The seat, the depth and the backrest are scaled together for a smaller frame, so you can sit right back, rest your feet flat, and let the chair carry you instead of arranging yourself around it. Two motors move the backrest and the leg rest independently, and the seat rises to bring you gently to standing.

Why a Smaller Chair Is a Better Chair, Not a Lesser One
The instinct when choosing a chair is to be generous — a deeper seat, a taller back, more of everything. For a smaller person that instinct works against them. A seat that runs too deep puts the backrest out of reach, so you either sit forward without support or sit back and find your feet swinging clear of the floor. Feet off the floor is the position that makes standing hardest, and it leaves the front edge of the seat taking the weight. A backrest built for someone taller pushes the head forward rather than meeting the neck. Arms set too far apart leave nothing within easy reach to press down on. None of these are matters of preference. They are the difference between a chair that helps and one that quietly makes the day a little harder.
On the motors: a single-motor chair drives the backrest and the leg rest from one actuator, so easing the back down raises the legs whether you wanted that or not. Two motors separate the movements — feet up while you sit upright with a cup of tea, or the back eased back without your knees rising to meet it. It is a small freedom, and it is the one people tend to notice most after the first week. The honest trade-off is a handset carrying more buttons, which is worth a few unhurried minutes in a showroom before you decide.

Sit right back before you judge it. Three things tell you whether a chair fits: your feet reach the floor, the seat does not press behind your knees, and your elbows fall naturally onto the arms. If any of those feel wrong, our Regular size may suit you better — and we would rather say so than sell you this one.

Our measurements were taken by hand and are close rather than exact. If a centimetre matters to your fit, measure the chair itself when you visit and we will hold the tape.

Ask us the maximum user weight. We will not print a figure we have not confirmed — ask in store and we will get it for you in writing.

Ask whether it has battery backup. If the power goes out while the chair is reclined, a backup battery is what brings it upright again.

Ask what the full leather covers — whether it runs across the whole chair or across the surfaces you sit against. It changes both the price and how it wears.
