The Grande is a dual-motor lift chair rated to 250 kg, built around a 73 cm seat — wide enough that a larger person sits in the chair rather than wedged between the arms. One Motor or Two, and Why the Seat Measurements Decide More Than Either
A single-motor chair drives the backrest and the leg rest from one actuator along a linked path. Recline the back and the legs come up with it, whether you wanted them to or not, and the chair steps through a fixed sequence rather than stopping wherever suits you. A dual-motor chair splits that into two circuits, so back and legs are independent. Day to day that is the difference between sitting upright with your feet raised while you eat or read, and having to lie back to get your legs up at all. It usually opens a deeper recline as well, because the two movements are no longer sharing one path. The honest trade-off: two motors means more buttons on the handset. If the person using the chair finds controls awkward, test that in the showroom rather than discover it at home.
The number most people fixate on is the weight rating, but the measurement that actually decides whether a lift chair works is the seat. Too narrow and you lose the armrests, which are what you push down on to stand. Too deep and you cannot get your back against the backrest without your feet lifting off the floor — and feet off the floor is precisely the position that makes standing hardest, which defeats the point of the chair. A capacity rating is not a badge bolted onto an ordinary frame either: a chair built to carry 250 kg has a reinforced frame and a heavier lift mechanism underneath it, and the seat is generally widened to sit over that structure. Ask us the seat height from the floor. This is the measurement that decides whether the chair suits you. Sitting with your feet flat and your knees at roughly a right angle is what makes standing straightforward — bring the shoes you actually wear and try it.

Ask whether it has battery backup. If the power goes out while the chair is reclined, a backup battery is what returns it upright. Worth knowing before you need it.

Ask what the leg rest is rated to on its own. On many lift chairs the leg rest carries a separate and much lower limit than the chair as a whole.

Ask for the overall footprint and the clearance it needs behind it when fully reclined, and check that against the wall or window you plan to put it against.
